MAC RiRi Hearts MAC Summer: RiRi Boy & Heaux

(L-R: RiRi Boy & Heaux)

This review has been a long time coming but you guys know the long story right? If not, let me explain (I love Kevin Hart! lol)

So MAC released the RiRi Hearts MAC summer collection online with a waiting room (just like the first time) and I was in that room for 2 hours waiting. I went to the grocery store for an hour, came back and was still in the waiting room! So I ended up having my purchases on backorder. I'll admit that I was upset, but glad I could get the lipsticks I wanted.

Both lipsticks arrived with a white substance on them. I assumed this was the wax from the machine used to make lipsticks, so I used 91% alcohol (just in case) with a Q-Tip to remove the white wax-like substance.

Now on to the lipsticks.

First up is RiRi Boy.

RiRi Boy Lipstick

I must say that it is a pretty color. It is a retro matte formula and described as a "vivid lavender." I would agree with this description. It's a very bright matte. The formula feels like velvet on the lips, but I will say make sure you use lip balm a few minutes before you apply or it will tug on you lips super hard!

Bring on that Heaux!

Heaux Lipstick

It's a fun way to play with words for this "matte berry" color as MAC describes it. This went on very smooth with no tugging on the lips. Heaux, like RiRi Woo and Riri Boy is also of a retro matte formulation. Heaux pulls more red that berry on me. This is a very sultry color and is my fav of this collection.

Both Riri Boy and Heaux are sold out on online (http://www.maccosmetics.com/ ) and I don't know if there will be a restock. I hope so though...

Covergirl Clean Whipped Creme Foundation Review and Demo

Covergirl recently released a new foundation called "Clean Whipped Creme." It's a light whipped formula that claims to give the skin "a boost of moisture without the greasy, shiny finish." Covergirl claims that this foundation:

  • Won't dry skin or clog pores
  • Gives 100% smooth natural look

I decided to give this foundation a try in color #365 since I was that shade in the Covergirl nature luxe. The consistency is very light and airy. This foundation is more of a satin finish and not a matte finish. I applied the foundation using a wedge sponge (you can also use your fingers). It only took 4 hours before my T-zone became oily and that's after I set with setting powder. I can say that the coverage is not that great, but it can be built up to cover any desired areas and it does a great job of evening out your skin-tone.

This is a foundation that I would say is a "House foundation" meaning that I'd wear it at home for something light just incase I need to step out for a minute. This foundation is available in 10 shades. Check them out here:

MAC Tropical Taboo Collection Haul

MAC recently released it's Mineralized collection for the summer called "Tropical Taboo." I passed on the eyeshadows and stuck with 2 cremesheens, 2 blushes and the 159 brush. I also picked up ablaze lip liner since I missed it in the Fashion Sets collection.

First up are the blushes.

Simmer mineralized blush is described as a burnt rose with peach/gold pearl. I love that this blush gives so much sheen and just a pop of color without being too bright. It's beautiful on the cheeks!
Simmer

(L-R: Swirled colors, lighter color and darker color)

Next up is Sweet Samba. Sweet Samba is described as a dark pink with tan pearl. This blush is a burst of color! The dark pink is very pigmented so I suggest using it with a light hand.

(L-R: Tan color, Pink color, Swirled colors together)

Next up are the cremesheens! These are my very first and I love them! There were a total of 4 but I picked up 2 colors that I think are amazing for summer: Fever Isle and Narcissus.

(Top: Narcissus
Bottom: Fever Isle)

Narcissus

Fever Isle
The 159 is a duo fiber face brush and is a new brush to the MAC brush line. It is a described as a paddled shaped brush used to give smooth, refined application of blush and highlight to the face.
