Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation Review

So I know I'm super late in the game but I like to give foundations a good long testing before coming to you guys!

Revlon came out with this foundation a few months back, with 16 shades in all. I had the hardest time finding my shade because I felt that they jump and skipped over a key section for WOC-the yellow tone dark skin girls. Chestnut (280) is directly next to Cappuccino (290) in the display indicating that they just jumped to the darkest color. Cappuccino was too red for me and oxidized to a really dark, warm tone color. I am cool toned so it did not work.

Top: Chestnut
Bottom: Cappuccino
So I got stuck with the color Chestnut and decided to bring the powder in Deep along.

First notice: The color goes on washy/ashy and we may have the SPF of 20 to blame. However, it does oxidize. This is one of those foundations that has to sit on your face for about 5 mins before you see a color change. The powder is a perfect compliment and is very smooth and silky. It also warms up the foundation in my opinion. I have an oily T-Zone and chin and after 5 hours of wear, those areas became shiny and it felt like a mud slide was happening on my face.

2 applications of the foundation gives light-medium coverage. Dark marks peek through.

The Good:
  • Lightweight
  • Feels like skin
  • Powder is great
  • Coverage is buildable
The Bad:
  • Flash photography is a no
  • Oily skin stay away!
  • Not enough color selection
  • OXIDIZING

Photography: Due to the SPF of 20, you will get a white cast in flash photography but in natural light it's beautiful.

Overtime: This foundation did break me out. A first for Revlon or any foundation for that matter. I may set it aside and give it another go but at the moment it will be going so far down in my makeup bag or returned.

MAC Archie's Girls: Strawberry Malt Lip Glass

Can I say I have a new found love for lip glass? I sure do!! I did not get a chance to initially pick up Strawberry Malt from MAC Archie's Girls collection a while back and when they restocked, I grabbed it! I love the application and it lasts long! Seriously, almost all day.

Since my lips are pigmented naturally, I thought the color payoff would be darker but it stayed true to color once applied. I can wait to try it with Ronnie Red lipstick :)
