RIRI Hearts MAC Fall Collection

This has got to be the hardest collection I have ever had to get my hands on. I'm not even going to get into the waiting room drama since I know everyone had probably the same bad experience. After making a few phone calls I was able to place an order over the phone. I settled on 7 items:

Lipsticks: Talk that Talk, Nude and Who's that Chick

Nude

Who's that chick

Talk that talk

Bronzer/blush duo: Hibiscus kiss
Let me honest: I bought this for the packaging. However, after swatching it, I think it can be a very useful item. The bronzer portion is light on my skin so I'm thinking a light, natural highlight rather than bronzer. The blush is a pretty pink against my skin tone so it can work as a light, natural pink blush.

Blush: Bad Girl Gone Good
This is a lovely color. More of a  "I'm wearing blush but not really" kind of blush on my skin tone which is what I want for fall.

Prolongwear lip pencil: Talk that Talk
This pencil does NOT move! I have to scrub my wrist to get this off. I love the color. More of a deep plum with red/ruby undertones.

Cream Color Base: Diamonds
I love the way this glistens in the sun. I did use a makeup brush to swatch but for application to the face, fingers are best. It's beautiful and I think a must have for everyone!

MAC All About Orange Collection Haul

MAC decided to get in touch with their citrus side and released a collection that focused on all things Orange! I loved the concept and decided to purchase a few lipsticks and at least try a blush. The complete collection has 7 lipsticks, 3 blushes and a quad of grey eyeshadows. The quad did not jump out at me and the blushes did nothing for my skintone. I purchased Sushi Kiss and Flamingo during the online release and went in store during the counter release (June 6, 2013) to pick up Tart & Trendy as well as Tangerine Dream.

(L-R: Flamingo & Sushi Kiss)

Sushi Kiss

Sushi Kiss is described as a midtonal coral but with a bit of a milky, satin finish. I had to blot this color on and if applied full strength, it's very white looking. So when I wear Sushi Kiss, I pair it with the MAC Auburn lip liner pencil just to tone it done.

Flamingo

Flamingo is described as a light, milky bright coral. It's very buildable and more on the pink side with a lustre finish. It's the perfect pink for summer.

Tart & Trendy

Tart & Trendy is described as a bright, neutral orange cream. I found this to be a buildable color as well with a lustre finish. I really enjoyed this lipstick. It glides on very smooth and delivers color beautifully.

Tangerine Dream

Tangerine Dream is described as a warm orange cream. It glides on more sheer since my lips are pigmented. However, I like that fact since it comes across as an orange sheer nude! Amazing huh? Therefore, I can wear Tangerine Dream as just a hint of orange of my lips. To add color though, I paired Tangerine Dream with Chicory lip liner by MAC. This made the color more solid and bold.

MAC Archie's Girls Collection

I was so excited to be apart of the MAC Archie Collection pre launch party on Feb. 5th. I headed out to the NorthPark Mall in Dallas, TX for the event.

There were cute party drinks and little apple turnovers to fill your tummy as you swatched and tried the products. There was even an "Archie" to snap a photo with. However, I wish there was a Betty and Veronica with him.

I picked up 3 lipsticks ($16.50 each for .10oz) from the collection: Red Ronnie, Betty Bright and Daddy's little girl. Enjoy the photos and shop maccosmetics.com

Ronnie Red is a bright-pink red with blue undertones and I love it. This is a long wearing lipstick as there was a bit of a stain left on my hand and my lips after I swatched it.

Ronnie Red

Daddy's Little girl is the cutest girly pink! However, it does have some strong blue undertones with a creamy finish and make sure your lips are exfoliated before wear with this one. There are so many pinks out there that look like this but hey, I had to pick this up.

After swatching it on my hand I was afraid to give Betty Bright a chance. It is more of a pinky coral color and I felt it may be too bright for me. However, like most bright colors on dark skin, I knew a lip liner could manipulate it into something pretty awesome and wearable. I also found that pressing my lips together with this product did give a line of demarcation so watch out for that.

Overall I do feel this was a collection that brings out the nostalgia behind the Archie Comic brand for us older ladies/guys and gives everyone a fun start to their makeup collection this spring.

New Makeup: MAC By Request collection

MAC recently released a MAC By Request collection. I mean, it's not completely a collection. Just a few discontinued items people voted on and were put on sale last week. I was able to get 4 items. They are available only online and while supplied last at www.maccosmetics.com

Jete and Moth Brown were the two eyeshadows that stood out to me. I felt these two would look great together.

Moth Brown looks exactly like its name. It resembles the dust off a moth with gives off more of a gray tone brown residue if you handle them. It goes on smooth with a frost finish and I think it's a great color for fall.

Jete is a very pretty pinky/ sandy coral color. Very light and natural looking. I think this would make a great highlight color.

Rocker (left) & Moxie (right)
The most popular lipstick from this collection was Candy Yum Yum but I passed on it because it may have been too bright for my skin tone. However, I did pick up Moxie and Rocker. I wanted rocker because I needed a nice deep red for fall and I wanted Moxie just to have a juicy pink in my collection.

Did you snag any of these limited edition shades?
