Decided to experiment with some blown out two strand twists. Turned them into Bantu Knots and ended up which a chunky hairstyle lol. Enjoy

August Favorites
Can you believe it's the last week in August? Fall is fast approaching but to give summer a last hoo-rah, here are the items that I have been enjoying this August.
Lip moisturizers from SUGAR. I love both of them. You can find them at sephora.com
Gorgeous necklace I have been wearing daily from Ideeli.com. It's gives a very sophisticated look to any outfit and reminds me alot of the Greek Cleopatra era!
I've been reaching for this oil for my quick moisturizing sessions. A little of this stuff goes a long way. You can pick this up at most Beauty supply stores.
These earrings were my first purchase from Baublebar.com. It's an online accessories store with some fabulous pieces at great prices. These worked out perfect this summer with so many outfits.

Throwback Thursday: Natural Hair Braid Out
Braid outs for my natural hair were my go to style for easy curls and lasting texture. I have not done a braid out for a while and I thought I'd share how I usually did them when my hair was shorter. Enjoy :)

Hauler Deals: Dulce Candy Kit Review
I was recently contacted by HaulerDeals to review their Dulce Candy kit. Hauler Deals is a website dedicated to the art of hauls via beauty gurus such as DulceCandy on YouTube. These gurus then point out items they love as well and those items become available for sale on the website. They also come in kits like the one I'm reviewing at great prices. You can get the entire Dulce Kit here as it retails for $158 but you can get it at Hauler Deals for only $24.95!

New Makeup: MAC By Request collection
MAC recently released a MAC By Request collection. I mean, it's not completely a collection. Just a few discontinued items people voted on and were put on sale last week. I was able to get 4 items. They are available only online and while supplied last at www.maccosmetics.com
Jete and Moth Brown were the two eyeshadows that stood out to me. I felt these two would look great together.
Moth Brown looks exactly like its name. It resembles the dust off a moth with gives off more of a gray tone brown residue if you handle them. It goes on smooth with a frost finish and I think it's a great color for fall.
Jete is a very pretty pinky/ sandy coral color. Very light and natural looking. I think this would make a great highlight color.
The most popular lipstick from this collection was Candy Yum Yum but I passed on it because it may have been too bright for my skin tone. However, I did pick up Moxie and Rocker. I wanted rocker because I needed a nice deep red for fall and I wanted Moxie just to have a juicy pink in my collection.
Did you snag any of these limited edition shades?

Gold Medal Beauty Products!
We just got through the Olympics this past week and I really enjoyed the events I got to watch via the mess of a broadcast that was NBC. However, there are a few beauty products I feel would deserve gold medals of their very own.
The Urban Decay NAKED palette is one of the most versatile palettes I own. For any day or night look I reach for this palette the most.
SugarPill Cosmetics loose eyeshadows go on so smooth and soft. The colors are very pigmented and stand out on any makeup look.
Rimmel London Eye magnifier is the perfect "fake lash look" mascara.
Wear this and you won't be reaching for false lashes for a while.
NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow pencils are great for beginners. Although they can crease if applied to thickly, they make amazing bases for eyeshadows.
It fits perfectly in your purse for over night travel as well.
The NYX retractable eyeliners are great for persons that hate having to sharpen eyeliner pencils. They are very pigmented and glide on smoothly.

MAC MatchMaster foundation is a great matte finish foundation.
If this could get 10 gold medals it deserves it.
It glides on smooth and has a perfect matte finish

The GO Palette in Beijing from Coastal Scents is great for on the go makeup application and eyeshadow touch ups.

Lime Crime Makeup Aquataenia Swatches
I finally got my hands on Lime Crime Makeup's Palette in Aquataenia. I had been wanting to try out their palettes since China doll came out but just never got around to it. I decided to purchase this particular one because I fell in love with the bright colors.
The packaging/case of the tin palette is really cute. The image is embossed on the case.
All of the colors in this palette are pearlescent which can give off more of a glittery effect.
The color swatches very easily as well with great color payoff.
The colors are above (left to right):
Nautilus Prime-blurple
Coral of the story- true coral
Seahorse Discourse- tropical green
Pearl-pl- pearlescent lilac
Atlanteal-Seafoam blue/green
Here are a few swatches using no eyeshadow base or flash.
The colors are gorgeous and I can't wait to try them.
Aquataenia can be purchased at LimeCrimemakeup.com

Ciate Velvet Manicure Review
When Ciate first came out with the Caviar Manicure I loved it. So I was really excited and curious to try out the Ciate Velvet Manicure. The packaging is very nice as usual and contains the following:
0.45 oz Paint Pot Nail Polish
Crushed Velvet Powder
Little Black Brush
Clear plastic tray
Little Black Brush
Clear plastic tray
The complete set that I purchased is "Berry Poncho" and is $19 on Sephora.com
The finished results on my nails were so-so. I loved the outcome however the staying power is well- except. Once your wash your hands, it's gone. The only thing left is a textured embossed look on the nail polish that the velvet once was. Therefore, I only recommend this if you have a hot date or you are just wanting it for one day kind of wear.

Peach & Plum Makeup Tutorial
I decided to recreate this look for a few of my YouTube subscribers that wanted to see how it was done. I used the Coastal Scents "GO" palette in Beijing which is more on the natural side with pinks, peaches and purples. It retails for $8.95. I really love the ease of use of the palette and it's travel size so that's always a good thing. However, expect some fallout with a few of these colors, especially the deep plum color.
Enjoy the tutorial :)

Gabby Douglas' Hair: Is it THAT serious?
What ever happened to watching the competitor, and not watching her hairline? What happened to hoping she "sticks" her landing and not what type of gel she needs to slick her hair down?
Gabby Douglas is a beautiful girl and her abilities should over shadow everything else. There are girls out there walking around with $300 weaves, but cant spell the word "Olympic." But hey, we live in a very vain society. What we do will never really matter to how we look or what/who we are wearing. I wish Gabby Douglas the best in her professional career and that she blossoms into a beautiful, successful young lady.
-And that's all I have to say about that.

Shoe Love: Just Fab "Sarada" Wedge
I need to some wedges to satisfy my shoe fix last month and decided to purchase from JustFab. Sign up here for Just Fab.
JustFab is a monthly fashion subscription site where you take a personality quiz, they pick shoes based on your answers, and every month a stylists pics shoes, accessories and handbags based on your style answers. All shoes are roughly $39.95 and you can skip a month if you don't like what was picked or browse the whole site. There is no annual fee. However, if you forget to skip the month, no worries! Just Fab will just place the $39.95 as a credit to your account to purchase anything you like :)
These are the Sarada wedge. These are very high (just how I like it) and are easy to walk in. However, they do need to be broken in as the toe area is kind of small. I will be stretching these babies out shortly.
Shoe Specs:
Heel Height: 6"
Runs True To Size (toe area needs to be stretch)
Synthetic Upper
Man Made Sole
Platform Height: 2"
I thought this was an interesting to note: the ankle strap section where the buckle needs is not suede like the rest of the shoe but a faux leather. This is great as with all the friction from the buckle, the suede wouldn't hold up at all.
SO. What do you think of Sarada?

Love & Hip Hop: Karlie Redd Inspired Makeup Tutorial
I'll be the first to admit that I enjoy the "Love & Hip Hop" reality show on VH1. I do have my favs and others that just urk me to death (Stevie!). However, Karlie Redd has intrigued me during the show and I have been loving her makeup. I was inspired to do a makeup look that I think she consistently is rocking during most of the episodes.
She keeps it neutral with just a touch of a smokey eye. She also has a very contoured nose and jaw line. Her hair is also for the most part always long and bone straight.
